The Finance Department of Odisha has been holding Pre-Budget consultations with a cross-section of the society.
In previous years, the Finance Department has aimed to make the budgetary process more open and participatory by utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This included gathering inputs for budget preparation through a dedicated budget web portal, as well as via e-mail, WhatsApp, and SMS. The portal displays all documents related to the budget.
Now, the Finance Department invites suggestions in a structured format on the Budget web portal https://budget.odisha.gov.in/ to be considered in the preparation of the Annual Budget for 2025-26. Suggestions can also be sent via e-mail to odisha.budget@gov.in. Additionally, input is welcomed through WhatsApp at the mobile number (+91)9438161111, and on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) at @FdOdisha, Facebook at @FinanceOdisha, and Instagram at @fdodisha. This opportunity to provide feedback will be available until January 31, 2025.
Members of the public, civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to participate in the state’s budget-making process.
