Nuapada District Collector Madhusudan Das released the final voter list today in a meeting with representatives from all political parties.
The event took place at the district headquarters conference hall.
The Nuapada Assembly Constituency (71-Nuapada), part of the 11-Kalahandi Parliamentary Constituency, will hold a by-election on November 11. The constituency includes 358 polling stations and a total of 2,53,624 registered voters. Among them, 1,24,108 are male, 1,29,495 are female, and 21 identify as third gender.
The voter list underwent a special summary revision from September 16 to 29. During this period, officials received 7,791 applications for new registrations (Form 6), 2,869 for deletions (Form 7), and 1,895 for corrections (Form 8). After verification, 10,685 applications were accepted.
Eligible citizens can still apply to be added to the voter list until October 10, ten days before the nomination deadline of October 20. The final updated list will be published seven days later.
The meeting was chaired by the District Collector and Chief Electoral Officer. Key attendees included Additional Collector Subash Chandra Raita, Prafulla Kujur and Sub-Collector Surmi Soren, and Election Deputy Collector Sheikh Nasim. Political representatives present were Kamalesh Kumar Dixit (BJP), Debadatta Dixit (INC), Ramakant Singh Kshatri (BJD), and Laxmikant Tandi (AAP).
Officials urged all parties to encourage voter participation and strengthen democracy through collective effort.
