A shocking incident unfolded in Badapindapadar village under Borigumma police station, where 30-year-old Lokanath Gadaba was brutally murdered.

The attack occurred during a local festival when an argument between Lokanath and Ramesh Goud escalated. In a fit of rage, Ramesh attacked Lokanath with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Lokanath was initially rushed to Borigumma Medical but was later transferred to Koraput Medical College due to the severity of his injuries. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds. His brother, Ratan Gadaba, filed a formal complaint at Borigumma police station, prompting immediate police action.

Local sarpanch Bhagaban Jani expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded an impartial investigation. The police have detained the accused, Ramesh Goud, and are conducting inquiries. A scientific team has arrived at the crime scene to assist in the investigation. Lokanath’s body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination.

A murder case has been registered under sections 82/25, 103(1)/3(5). Investigating officer Swetapadma Seth stated that further inquiries will determine if others were involved in the crime. The incident has left the community in shock, calling for swift justice.
