New Delhi: The agitating farmer unions have declared a Bharat Bandh on March 26. This is to mark the completion of four months of protest against the agriculture laws.
The unions will submit memoranda to district magistrates against rising fuel prices and privatisation of railways. Burning of farm laws in the Holika Dahan will be on March 28.
Farmer leader Buta Singh Burjgill said a complete bandh will be observed on March 26 and this will mark four months of the protest. The bandh will be peaceful, he added.
Reports said on March 15, the farmer unions will protest against rising prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. The farmers will observe Shaheedi divas of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Youths from various parts of the country will join the protests in the national capital on March 23.
Worth mentioning that the farmer unions have been protesting against the three farm laws on Delhi borders since November. A solution to the problem is evading despite several rounds of discussion between the farmer unions and the Union Government. The farmers have remained adamant on their demand for the repeal of three agriculture laws.
