Odisha Police uncovered a shocking case of impersonation during a routine night patrol in Saheednagar.
The accused, Manas Ranjan Senapati (26) and Ashis Swain (23) were caught red-handed with fake police uniforms, forged identity cards, and counterfeit Indian currency worth Rs 1,93,000. The seizure also included police-related paraphernalia like nameplates, appointment letters, and other materials used for masquerading as law enforcement officers.
The duo was intercepted in a car during a patrol stop. Upon suspicion, officers searched their vehicle and found incriminating evidence pointing to their fraudulent activities. Both individuals are now facing charges under multiple sections of the law for forgery, impersonation, and cheating.
This case sheds light on the misuse of police identity for unlawful activities, prompting Odisha Police to intensify vigilance against such imposters.
