Bhubaneswar: In yet another development in the investigation into the series of crimes committed by arrested Matric fail fake doctor Ramesh Chandra Swain, who has been accused of duping as many as 18 women after marrying them, a Police team from Bhubaneswar to raid his farm house in Khuntuni area of Dhenkanal.
The step has been adopted on basis of allegations of duping a nursery trader in Andhra to the tune of Rs 4 lakh.
Notably, a special squad has brought Ramesh’s sister Rashmita Beura to Bhubaneswar for quizzing her in connection with her alleged involvement in the frauds committed by her brother. She has been kept at an undisclosed location where she will be questioned. Significantly, other members of her family managed to escape from the house during the police raid.
Notably, the 54-year-old Romeo of Odisha’s Kendrapara has married 17 women from various cities including Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Guwahati, and Chhattisgarh.
Swain was arrested by the Twin City police a few days back from the city following a complaint by one of his wives who had been tracking him.
