Bhubaneswar: A team of epidemiologists on Saturday reached Deogarh district to observe and examine the health condition of a 62-year-old man, who found infected with Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 after genome sequencing of the virus.
The team will examine health condition of the infectee and conduct contact tracing. The officials will also verify condition of those, who came in contact with him recently and if they were vaccinated.
Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra said the Delta Plus variant infectee was vaccinated on March 30 but later contracted the virus after coming in contact with a COVID-19 person.
Delta Plus is a new mutant version of the SARS-CoV-2 first detected in India.
