Sundargarh: An elderly man was allegedly murdered by his relatives over a family dispute in Hemagiri locality of Sundargarh district last evening.
The deceased has been identified as Kamadeba Dhanaguna, a resident of Tumulia village in the district.
According to reports, Kamadeba was sleeping at his house when some of his relatives arrived and started abusing him over some family dispute.
Enraged over the matter, they hacked Kamadeba with an axe leading to his death on the spot. The accused persons fled the spot soon after commiting crime.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem.
A case has been registered and a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits involved, said the police.
