A series of road accidents rocked Bhubaneswar late at night when a drunk driver rammed into several vehicles in Jagamara under Khandagiri police limits.

Police confirmed that four people sustained serious injuries in the crash. The victims were rushed to Capital Hospital, where treatment is ongoing. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver sped recklessly through the area, colliding with multiple cars before losing control.

Authorities reached the accident site soon after receiving information and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the locality is being examined to identify the accused driver. Police stated that alcohol consumption played a direct role in the incident.

Residents expressed concern over the rising number of accidents in the capital city. Despite strict traffic rules and enforcement, reckless driving under the influence continues to endanger lives. Locals demanded stronger action against drunk driving and stricter monitoring of late-night traffic.

The series of accidents disrupted movement in Jagamara for several hours. Vehicles lined up along the stretch as police cleared the damaged cars. Officials assured that efforts are underway to track down the driver and bring him to justice.

The incident has reignited debate over road safety in Bhubaneswar. Citizens urged authorities to intensify awareness campaigns and increase patrols to prevent similar tragedies.
