On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid heartfelt tribute to the medical community, calling them “pillars of humanity” and lauding their tireless service and compassion.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister stated:
“Our doctors have made a mark for their dexterity and diligence. Equally notable is their spirit of compassion. They are truly protectors of health and pillars of humanity. Their contribution in strengthening India’s healthcare infrastructure is indeed exceptional.”
The day is observed annually on July 1 to honour the vital role of doctors in society and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, an eminent physician and former Chief Minister of West Bengal.
The PM’s message was widely appreciated by the medical fraternity and citizens alike, especially in the backdrop of the relentless efforts by healthcare professionals in tackling health crises and strengthening India’s medical ecosystem.
