Novak Djokovic delivered a commanding performance at Wimbledon 2025, outclassing Britain’s Daniel Evans 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 to move into the third round.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion was clinical throughout, avenging his 2021 Monte-Carlo loss and stamping his dominance on Centre Court in just under two hours.
Djokovic’s return to form was emphatic. The sixth seed dropped only nine points on serve, defusing Evans’ signature slice backhand with pinpoint precision. By executing a tactical masterplan, Djokovic showcased his grass-court prowess, improving his record at SW19 to 99-12.
“This sport has given me so much. Wimbledon remains the most special tournament in my heart,” said Djokovic post-match, reflecting on his 19th third-round appearance, surpassing Roger Federer in the Open Era. The Serbian now holds the record for the most third-round entries at the prestigious Grand Slam.
While Evans tried to disrupt Djokovic’s rhythm by rushing the net, the 24-time Grand Slam winner remained unfazed, striking 46 winners to Evans’ 19. He now boasts a season record of 23-8, which includes his 100th ATP title earned earlier in Geneva.
Djokovic will next face compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic, who staged a gritty comeback to defeat Jesper de Jong in four sets. A win would mark Djokovic’s 100th Wimbledon main-draw victory—yet another milestone in an illustrious career.
