Puri: The divine marriage of Lord Madanmohan & Goddess Rukmini was delayed & was held late last night at Puri Srimandir.
Subsequent delay followed and door-opening was late this morning leading to unprecedented rush of devotees at Singhadwara and Paschimadwara.
The marriage of Lord Jagannath is one of the most delightful of His many festivals. This divine marriage is celebrated in Puri every year on the eleventh day of the waxing moon in the month of Jyestha. This day is also called Rukmini Harana Ekadashi.
Notably, Rukmini Vibaha (marriage) is performed in the bright fortnight of Jeshta(June) month before the holy Snanajatra rituals (Deva Snana Purnima) inside Puri Jagannath temple.
