Bhubaneswar: To create a robust learner-centric and industry-ready ecosystem, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan will launch Odisha’s First Skill India Centre in Sambalpur tomorrow. The initiative is designed to build the capabilities and knowledge of Yuva Shakti in trades that are high in demand such as Media& Entertainment, Leather, Tourism & Hospitality, and IT-ITeS.
The initiative stands as a progressive step towards creating a conducive learning environment that empowers youth with industry-specific skills through a unique combination of classroom and work-based learning. The centre is equipped with best-in-class infrastructure, cutting-edge technologies and modern facilities that will catalyse demand for formal skills and will serve as a catalyst in enabling youth to acquire the skills needed to succeed in these fields.
The students will benefit immensely from the features being introduced at the Skill India Centre, and most importantly, they will be skilled by industry leaders. With this, the candidates will be able to gain academic knowledge along with on-the-job training in job roles like Cloud Application Developer, Domestic IT Helpdesk Attendant, Graphic Designer, Media Executive, Storyboard Artist, Food & Beverage Services Associate, Barista Executive, Stitching Operator, Footwear & Fashion Retail Associate and more.
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will oversee the management of the centre and this transformative step will open new avenues for individuals to pursue education, and acquire new skills and employment linkages. The promising, exuberant, and determined youth of Sambalpur have immense potential that will be leveraged through the launch of the centre and will enhance their placement and employability prospects in the domestic and international markets.
