New Delhi: In the aftermath of the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night, Delhi Police have released the identities of the 18 deceased, which include 14 women and 5 minors. The incident occurred amid a massive rush of passengers heading to the Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The police has now put out the list of people who have died in the stampede. While the eldest victim of the tragedy was 79 years old, the youngest was a 7-year-old child –

In response to the tragedy, Indian Railways has announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹10 lakh for the families of the deceased, ₹2.5 lakh for those seriously injured, and ₹1 lakh for individuals with minor injuries.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the stampede and to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The railway station has since resumed normal operations, but the memory of the tragic event remains fresh in the minds of many.
