New Delhi: The Delhi government on Tuesday allowed home delivery of Indian and foreign liquor for orders placed through a mobile application or via an online web portal.
Reportedly, liquor delivery comes with certain conditions.
As per Delhi Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2021, holders of the L-13 licenses will be allowed to deliver liquor to the doorstep of people.
Moreover, the licensee shall make delivery of liquor at the residences only if the order is received through the mobile app or online web portal and no delivery shall be made to any hostel, office, and institution.
The rules also permit the holders of the necessary licenses to serve liquor in open spaces such as terraces, the courtyards of clubs, bars, and restaurants.
Notably, the decision to allow home delivery of liquor comes a day after the national capital started the unlocking process, after a month of lockdown.
