New Delhi: Delhi’s air quality remains in the poor category on Wednesday morning with air quality index (AQI) at 7am stood at 239.
On Tuesday, the average 24-hour AQI was 240, which is in the higher-end of the poor category.
Air Quality Index is a tool for effective communication of air quality status to people in terms, which are easy to understand. It transforms complex air quality data of various pollutants into a single number (index value), nomenclature and colour.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
