The second day of the National Conference on UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus), jointly organised by the School and Mass Education Department of Odisha and the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) under the Ministry of Education, focused on sharing best practices and enhancing the data capture framework.

States including Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Manipur, and Maharashtra presented key initiatives aimed at the effective implementation and management of UDISE+. These presentations underscored efforts to improve data quality, strengthen validation mechanisms, and ensure timely reporting within the system.

Discussions were held on state-specific requirements and suggestions for enhancing the UDISE+ data capture format. Representatives from CBSE, NIOS, the Odisha Board of Secondary Education, and the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education participated in these discussions, emphasising the need for greater alignment, coordination, and responsiveness within the data system.

Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha, shared valuable insights on strengthening UDISE+. He highlighted the importance of continuous improvement in educational data systems to support evidence-based planning and policy formulation.

Delegates from various states and education boards were recognised for their contributions to strengthening UDISE+ implementation. The event was well-coordinated, with stage management led by Ch. Vijaya Laxmi, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE).

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Arati Maharana, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education, who expressed appreciation to all participants and organisers for the successful conduct of the two-day national conference.
