Umerkote: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt officials at the panchayat level, Vigilance officials today conducted a raid on Gram Rojgar Sevak (GRS) of Sinsari panchayat in Umerkote on the charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
The accused has been identified as Himanshu Bagh.
According to available reports, four teams of the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous raids at Malkangiri, Jeypore, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada.
In course of the initial search, Bagh was found in possession of assets worth Rs 17 lakh.
Raids are still underway.
