Bhubaneswar: Decline in COVID testing has reduced positivity rate in Odisha, informed State Health Director Bijay Mohapatra today.
The top health official said that the COVID testing has declined due to very severe cyclonic storm Yaas. However, the door-to-door survey will be intensified in areas affected by Cyclone Yaas.
“Testing and vaccination will resume after people return to their homes from cyclone shelters. The healthcare services and infrastructure remained unaffected in the districts due to the cyclone,” Mahapatra said.
Notably, the State registered 6,736 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours, a sharp drop by 4,887 against the cases reported on May 26.
