Cuttack: Cuttack Police has warned people not to share their certificate of COVID-19 vaccination online as they carry crucial data which is private to the certificate holder, and should not be revealed to everyone.
The Cuttack DCP has posted the warning on its Twitter handle.
The police said, “Your personal information and some secret data used in the QR code in the certificate can help fraudsters cheat you.”

“Cyber fraudsters have duped people of Rs 1, 40,09,469 in May as against Rs 1,19,63,297 in April. Of the total Rs 1.40 crore, Rs 70,78, 714 has been defrauded from people in Bhubaneswar alone. Total 17 cybercrime cases were registered during in May,” said a statement issued by the CP.
Earlier, The ministry of home affairs (MHA) also said that one should not post the certificate that gets generated on the CoWIN application after vaccination on social media as cyber fraudsters are on the prowl in the country.
