Shri Lalit Gupta, CMD of the Cotton Corporation of India, met with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, at Lokseva Bhavan today.
During their discussion, Sh Gupta raised various topics related to cotton production, procurement, and market facilities.
Currently, cotton is being cultivated on 2.39 lakh hectares of land in Odisha, with a target of producing 40 lakh quintals this year. The cotton grown in Odisha is of high quality and enjoys strong market demand. The meeting also covered the future outlook for the Cotton Corporation of India and the Government of Odisha.
In attendance were the principal Secretary of DAFE, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee; the Regional Manager of CCI, Sh T K Das; and the Additional Director of DAFE, Sh J Surya Rao.
