New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday revealed its second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections featuring prominent names such as Nakul Nath from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara and Vaibhav Gehlot from Rajasthan’s Jalore. However, no candidates have been announced for Odisha yet.
Among the notable candidates, Gaurav Gogoi, the party’s deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to contest from Assam’s Jorhat, while Pradyut Bordoloi is set to represent Nagaon. Rahul Kaswan, who recently joined the Congress after leaving the BJP, has been fielded from Churu in Rajasthan.
Lok Sabha Election 2024: Second List Of Congress Candidates
The Congress party has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024. The announcement came after a meeting of the central election committee chaired by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. The committee finalized the candidates for over 60 seats in states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu.
A press conference was held by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, who revealed that the second list comprises 13 seats from Assam, 10 from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan, seven from Gujarat, three from Uttarakhand, and one from Daman and Diu. Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Pawan Khera were also present at the briefing.
