In a significant move, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, led by Bhakta Charan Das, met Governor Haribabu Kambhampati at Raj Bhavan to address the alarming rise in crimes against women in the state.

The delegation emphasized the need for immediate action, including the formation of a special committee in the Odisha Assembly to ensure justice and safety for women.

The Congress delegation presented a detailed memorandum highlighting incidents of violence against women over the past nine months. They also condemned the recent police brutality against Congress leaders and workers during a peaceful protest. The delegation urged the Governor to take swift action against the perpetrators and ensure accountability within the police force.

The Governor assured the delegation of his commitment to addressing these concerns and promised to consider their demands seriously. The Congress party has vowed to continue its fight for justice and safety for women through sustained protests and advocacy.
