Bhubaneswar: Cold wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over several districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
According to IMD’s latest bulletin, cold wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, and Angul.
“Stay indoors and avoid movement during the night and early morning to avoid prolonged exposure to cold. Also, keep livestock in a shaded area or indoors,” the IMD advised.
According to the IMD, during the next five days, dry weather is likely to prevail over Odisha and shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal districts during this period.
Minimum temperatures observed marked fall at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha, the IMD said.
They were markedly below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably below normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 07.8 degrees was recorded at Jharsuguda today.
Further fall in Minimum temperature (Night temperature) by 2-3 degrees over the districts of South Odisha and North Coastal Odisha during next 24 hours. Minimum temperature (Night temperature) will be below normal by 3-5 degrees at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and by 2-4 degrees at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha during the next four to five days.
“Bhubaneswar will experience fog or mist in the morning and mainly clear sky later. Maximum and Minimum temperature of the Capital City will be between 29°C and 15°C,” the IMD’s afternoon bulletin read.
