After several days of intense winter conditions, Odisha has begun to experience relief as night temperatures rise across the state. The cold wave that had gripped the region has weakened since late Friday night, easing discomfort for residents.
People across Odisha had been enduring harsh and biting cold, particularly during night and early morning hours. However, a gradual increase in minimum temperatures has reduced the severity of the cold spell, offering much-needed comfort.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this change in weather was expected due to the influence of an active deep depression system. Upper-level cloud formations linked to the system earlier caused temperature fluctuations, but recent developments have led to a moderation of winter conditions.
Weather officials explained that the inflow of moisture-laden winds into the state has played a significant role in raising temperatures. The increased humidity has weakened the cold wave that had dominated Odisha over the past few days.
As per the latest IMD forecast, dry weather is likely to prevail across the state until January 16. No significant rainfall activity is expected during this period, and temperatures are projected to remain stable, providing continued relief from extreme cold conditions.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during early morning and late night hours, as mild winter conditions may still persist in certain areas. However, overall weather conditions are expected to remain comfortable in the coming days.
