Roads, Railways & Hospitals: Boudh’s Development Boom!

In a pivotal visit to Boudh district, Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing developmental projects, urging officials to accelerate implementation while ensuring top-notch quality and public involvement.

During the review at the Boudh Collectorate, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress of several key infrastructure projects. Notably, the Rs. 28 crore road project aimed at improving transportation facilities in Boudh has recently laid its foundation stone. Additionally, a 300-bed hospital, a new bus stand, and a railway connection from Nayagarh to Boudh are nearing completion, with inauguration expected soon.

Emphasising efficiency, Majhi directed officials to expedite lagging projects. “There should be no compromise on quality, and all projects must be completed within the specified timeline,” he stated, calling for regular inspections to uphold standards. He also urged officials to involve the local population actively, stating, “Public awareness and participation will enhance transparency and ensure that development meets people’s needs.”

The review also highlighted several obstacles, including land acquisition, funding, and manpower shortages. Majhi instructed the district administration to coordinate with the state government to resolve these challenges immediately. He assured his intervention, if necessary,y to facilitate solutions.

Key areas such as education, healthcare, sports, and agriculture received special attention. The Chief Minister stressed the need for modern facilities in schools and hospitals and emphasised better infrastructure for farmers. He instructed officials to draft a detailed action plan focusing on these sectors in the coming months.

Majhi reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transforming Boudh into a model district, surpassing previous administrative setbacks. He encouraged officials to expand industrialisation, tourism, and renewable energy initiatives and mandated a comprehensive development plan to be ready within the next month.

The review meeting was attended by MP Sukant Kumar Panigrahi, MLAs Saroj Kumar Pradhan and Kanhai Charan Danga, along with key administrative officers, ensuring a unified effort toward rapid progress.
