Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested a senior clerk-cum-record Keeper of Muribahal tehsil office in Bolangir district for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 28,000.
The accused has been identified as Asit Kumar Joshi.
According to reports, Joshi had demanded Rs 28,000 from one Thabir Sahu of Limapada village under Muribahal police limits for issuing Record of Rights (ROR) in favour of the latter. Following this, Thabir approached the anti-corruption agency and lodged a complaint in this regard.
Based on the plaint, the anti-corruption agency laid a trap and caught the clerk red-handed while accepting the gratification.
A case has been registered against the accused clerk and further investigation into the matter is underway.
