A festive atmosphere turned tragic at Radhamadhav Jiu Vidyalaya in Jadida, Nilagiri block, Balasore district, when a ninth-grade student, Priyanshu Pritam Dasbabu, lost his life during Ganesh Puja celebrations.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the local community, leaving students, teachers, and parents in a state of shock.
Priyanshu, a resident of Siadimal village and the son of Lakshminarayan Dasbabu, arrived at school in high spirits, joining his peers to celebrate the festival honouring Lord Ganesha. The students were dancing and playing drums as part of the festivities. Tragically, while dancing with his friends, Priyanshu suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to Nilagiri Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The sudden loss has left the entire region mourning the young life cut short.
The exact cause of Priyanshu’s collapse remains unclear, pending further investigation. The school and local community are grappling with the heartbreaking incident, with many expressing their condolences to the bereaved family. The tragedy serves as a sombre reminder of how quickly joy can turn to sorrow, even in moments of celebration.
