A 15-year-old girl from Bagichapada under Rajgangpur police station limits in Sundargarh district died late Sunday night in what police have registered as an unnatural death case.
Family members discovered the girl unresponsive at home and immediately rushed her to the Rajgangpur Community Health Centre. Doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Police officials, acting under the direction of Inspector-in-Charge Bijay Kumar Das, reached the hospital and later visited the site. ASI Hemant Kumar Dhirua and Sushant Kumar Senapati conducted preliminary inquiries and seized the body for post-mortem examination.
The deceased was a Class 10 student. Authorities stated that the cause of death remains unclear. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and handed over the body to the family after an autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
