Bhubaneswar: “Children are the future of our society. They represent our collective hopes and aspirations. Smiling children paint our society in multitude of colours and depict its vitality,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while addressing the 12th Foundation Day of Odisha State Commission for Child Rights (OSPCR) here on Tuesday.
The Odisha CM said, “All our endeavour should be directed at one goal- bring smiles on the face of every child.”
“The state government has been making sincere efforts for the wellbeing of children,” he said adding that it has put in place various programmes under the Women & Child Developments Department,.
CM Naveen Patnaik further stated that his government is striving to create an atmosphere where every child grows up to his or her full potential.
The Chief Minister also sanctioned Rs 3.82 crore for construction of Utkal Balashram Building at Cuttack on the occasion.
The OSPCR is working sincerely to enforce laws aimed at protecting the rights of children. It has been making consistent efforts to create awareness in society, the CM concluded.
