Chennai Super Kings (CSK) showcased their trademark dominance at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 23 runs in Match 18 of IPL 2026.
Batting first, CSK piled up an imposing 212/2, powered by a blistering middle-over assault that saw six towering sixes between overs 12–16. Their top order laid a solid foundation, while the death overs added crucial runs to seal a commanding total.
In reply, DC began aggressively, reaching 66/2 in the power play. However, regular wickets in the middle overs derailed their chase.
Tristan Stubbs fought valiantly with a quickfire fifty, but CSK’s disciplined bowling, led by Jamie Overton’s four-wicket haul and Anshul Kamboj’s late strikes, ensured DC folded for 189.
Dewald Brevis added brilliance in the field with three sharp catches, underlining CSK’s all-round performance.
The win strengthens CSK’s campaign, while DC will need to regroup quickly to stay competitive in the tournament.
