New Delhi: The Union government has urged the Supreme Court to restrain protesting farmers from holding a proposed tractor march on Republic Day.
It said any disruption in the celebrations would be a huge embarrassment for the nation.
Worthwhile to mention that the farmers from Haryana and Punjab have been protesting against the three farm laws for over a month. They have planned to take out a massive rally on the Republic Day if their demands are not conceded.
The Union government has cited constitutional significance of the Republic Day in India. It said obstruction in the said function will be against the law and order and would be a huge embarrassment for the nation.
