New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially commenced the Class 10 and 12 final examinations today, February 15, 2025. On the first day, Class 10 students will take the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, while Class 12 students will appear for the Entrepreneurship exam. The exams will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across thousands of centres.
Massive Student Participation
CBSE estimates that nearly 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad are participating in the 2025 board exams. With such a large number of examinees, strict protocols have been put in place to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
CBSE Guidelines for Students
CBSE has issued several exam day guidelines to maintain discipline and fairness:
Must-Carry Items:
Admit card (mandatory for entry)
School ID (for regular students) or government-issued ID (for private students)
Transparent pouch with stationery (blue/royal blue ink pens, pencils, erasers, ruler, writing pad)
Transparent water bottle
Prohibited Items:
Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices
Any paper, notes, or books with textual content
Calculators (except for Dyscalculia students, who may use calculators provided by the exam centre)
Wallets, handbags, or any electronic gadgets
Dress Code:
Regular students must wear school uniforms
Private candidates should wear light-colored, simple clothing
Food items are not allowed, except for diabetic students, who may carry necessary snacks
CBSE Stresses Punctuality & Exam Ethics
CBSE has urged students to arrive well before the gate closing time to prevent last-minute issues. Security checks and seating arrangements will take place before the exam begins. Additionally, CBSE has strictly warned against unfair practices, ensuring a transparent and fair examination process.
