A passenger bus lost control and crashed into a house near Basudevpali in Boudh district, leaving around 30 passengers narrowly safe.
The bus was travelling from Bhubaneswar toward Bolangir when the driver lost control along the National Highway. The vehicle veered off the road and rammed into a roadside house. Fortunately, no passenger sustained serious injuries, though panic spread among those inside the bus.
Local residents rushed to the spot and joined rescue efforts. They helped passengers exit the bus and checked for injuries. Police arrived soon after receiving information and began investigating the cause of the accident. Officials confirmed that the exact reason behind the mishap remains unclear.
Traffic on the National Highway suffered disruption for some time as authorities cleared the accident site. Vehicles lined up along the stretch until police managed to restore movement.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing number of road accidents in Odisha. Safety concerns continue to rise as buses and heavy vehicles frequently meet with accidents on highways. Residents demanded stricter monitoring of bus operations and better enforcement of traffic rules.
