Global K-pop sensation BTS has officially announced their comeback—and it’s nothing short of monumental. After a long hiatus for mandatory military service, the seven-member group will release a new album in spring 2026, followed by their first world tour in nearly four years.
The announcement was made during a live broadcast on Weverse, where all members—Jin, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jung Kook, and Suga—came together publicly for the first time since 2022.
“We’re preparing a group album that reflects each of our thoughts and creativity,” BTS shared. “We’re approaching this just like we did at the beginning—with excitement, sincerity, and unity.”
The band will begin working on the album this July in the United States, according to their label, Hybe Corporation. This upcoming release will be their first major group project since the 2022 anthology Proof and their last full studio album Be (2020).
The reunion follows the recent military discharge of all seven members, with Jin returning in June 2024 and J-Hope in October. South Korea mandates 18–21 months of service for all able-bodied men, though K-pop stars like BTS were permitted to delay enlistment until age 30 under a 2020 legal revision.
While six members served in the army, Suga completed alternative service as a social service agent due to health reasons.
BTS’s upcoming tour will mark their first live global performances since the Permission to Dance On Stage tour, cut short by the pandemic. With their return, anticipation is sky-high among fans across continents.
From Seoul to New York, from military boots to stage lights—BTS is back, and ARMY worldwide is counting down the days.
