Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bolangir, Odisha, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, was conferred the prestigious ‘Best Woman Parliamentarian Award – Lok Sabha’ at the 6th edition of the Lokmat Parliamentary Awards held in the national capital today.

The awards, organised by the renowned Lokmat Media Group, celebrate outstanding contributions and exemplary performance by parliamentarians in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. This year’s ceremony highlighted lawmakers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to legislative duties, effective debating, and public service.

A five-time Lok Sabha MP representing Bolangir, Smt. Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo has earned widespread recognition for her tireless advocacy on key issues, including women’s empowerment, child rights, rural development, and social welfare. Her consistent efforts to amplify the voices of marginalised communities and push for inclusive policies have marked her as a dedicated representative of Odisha’s aspirations in the national parliament.

The honour was presented amid thunderous applause from a distinguished audience comprising Union ministers, former judges, senior parliamentarians, and prominent media leaders.

Smt. Singh Deo expressed profound gratitude for the recognition. In her remarks following the award, the MP stated that the accolade reinforces her responsibility to continue raising critical issues affecting Odisha and the nation with sincerity and conviction. “This honour inspires me to serve with even greater dedication. I remain steadfast in my commitment to serve the people, amplify their voices, and work tirelessly towards a just, equitable, and prosperous nation,” she added.

The Lokmat Parliamentary Awards, instituted to encourage meaningful parliamentary discourse and legislative excellence, have grown into a benchmark for recognising public servants who prioritise national progress over partisanship.

Congratulations poured in from across political circles and constituents in Bolangir, celebrating this well-deserved milestone for one of Odisha’s most prominent leaders.
