Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday initiated a process to revise the parking charges here which will be implemented from April 1.
BMC has invited tender for 32 parking lots in the town.
As per initial reports, while there will be no parking charges for bicycles, motorists will have to pay Rs 5 for parking their two-wheelers for up to two hours.
On the other hand, auto-rickshaws, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles will be charged Rs 5, Rs 20 and Rs 25 respectively.
Charges of Rs 25 will be levied for parking two-wheelers for three to four hours, while four-wheelers and heavy vehicles, the parking fees have been fixed at Rs 35, Rs 60 and Rs 75 respectively.
Commuters will need to pay 20 per cent extra per hour if they opt to park their vehicles for more than five hours
Meanwhile, Electric vehicles will be given a 40 per cent discount on parking fees.
Summary:
The two wheeler owners are now being paid Rs 5 for upto 0-2 hours, Rs 15 for 2-3 hours, Rs 25 for 3-4 hours and Rs 35 for 4-5 hours for parking their vehicles.
Auto-rickshaw, four-wheeler (light) and four-wheeler (heavy) vehicles, the parking charges are Rs 5, Rs 20 and Rs 25 for parking for 2 hours, Rs 20, Rs 40 and Rs 50 for 2-3 hours, Rs 35, Rs 60 and Rs 75 for 3-4 hours and Rs 50, Rs 80 and Rs 100 for 4-5 hours respectively.
