Mayurbhanj: Unrest erupted at Sagarsahi village in Mayurbhanj district following alleged issuance of power bills without electricity connection.
Worried, the consumers complained and later the locals blocked Udala-Thakurmunda road to protest.
Inflated electricity bills over the last year have become a major concern for residents, who alleged that despite taking up the matter with the distribution company, there has been no relief. They said that the issue has been a regular one since the installation of smart meters and the issue was compounded since a lockdown was enforced last year to quell the spread of Covid-19.
