A tragic bike collision in Odisha’s Baipariguda block claimed one life and left two others critically injured on Sunday evening.
The accident occurred near Mundaguda Bridge in Lepaguda village when 17-year-old college student Bikash Khara and his friend were returning home after an evening walk. A speeding bike struck them, leaving Bikash severely injured.
The bike carried two men, Dhanurjay Majhi from Majhiguda and Dhanurjay Nayak from Dumuriguda. Both sustained serious injuries in the crash. Locals rushed all three victims to the Baipariguda Community Health Centre for immediate treatment.
Doctors referred them to the district headquarters hospital in Jeypore as their conditions remained critical. Despite efforts by medical teams, Dhanurjay Majhi succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The other two victims continue to fight for their lives at Jeypore hospital.
The incident shocked residents of Lepaguda and nearby villages. Families of the victims gathered at the hospital, demanding strict measures to prevent reckless driving in the area. Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
