Actor and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Mayur Patel faces serious legal trouble after a late‑night accident in Bengaluru.
On Wednesday night, his Toyota Fortuner collided with several vehicles near the Commando Hospital junction on Old Airport Road.
Eyewitnesses reported that Patel’s SUV sped into cars waiting at a red signal without slowing down. The pile‑up involved four vehicles, including two Swift Dzires and a government car. The impact mangled the vehicles; fortunately, no one sustained life‑threatening injuries.
Traffic police from Halasuru station reached the spot quickly. They conducted a breathalyser test, which confirmed alcohol consumption. Investigators also discovered that Patel’s SUV insurance had lapsed, adding another violation. Authorities seized the vehicle and registered a case under the drunk driving and rash, negligent driving sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The complaint was filed by one of the motorists whose car was damaged. Patel, who debuted in the 2003 film Mani and gained popularity through Bigg Boss Kannada, has also acted in films like Love Story and Rajeeva. He has not yet issued any public statement regarding the incident.
