Television actor Gaurav Khanna, widely known for his role as Anuj Kapadia in Anupamaa, has found himself at the centre of controversy inside the Bigg Boss 19 house. The actor clashed with writer-actor Zeishaan Quadri over food, leading to a heated confrontation that quickly turned the house against him.
In the promo shared by the makers, Zeishaan accused Gaurav of consuming food meant for seven people, to which Gaurav retorted, “In just one serving, I ate lentils made for 7 people?” Zeishaan, however, insisted that Gaurav had taken multiple servings, with fellow contestant Amaal Mallik even branding him a liar. Matters escalated when Zeishaan labelled Gaurav as “sabse bada jahil (the biggest illiterate).”
The situation worsened as other housemates, including Baseer, criticised Gaurav’s body language, pointing to his relaxed posture on the sofa as a sign of arrogance. Gaurav dismissed their complaints, saying, “You think I took it? Go nominate me.”
Fans outside the house were quick to react. While some defended Gaurav’s temperament, many compared his behaviour to late Bigg Boss legend Sidharth Shukla, calling him “a cheap copy” or “trying too hard to be Sidharth.” Supporters, however, felt the housemates were unnecessarily targeting him and said his anger added spice to the game.
Bigg Boss also conducted the first round of nominations in the house’s assembly room. Seven contestants—Abhishek Bajaj, Gaurav Khanna, Zeishaan Quadri, Neelam Giri, Tanya Mittal, Natalia Janoszek and Pranit More—are now in danger of eviction. Meanwhile, Farhana Bhatt, who was voted out for her rude behaviour, is watching housemates 24/7 from a secret room.
Host Salman Khan will reveal the first eviction during Weekend Ka Vaar. The show airs on JioCinema at 10 pm and Colors TV at 10:30 pm daily.
