A violent attack shocked Bhubaneswar on March 6 when three men assaulted a local sweet shop owner, Dilip Kumar Behera, near Samantarapur Square.
The accused arrived on a motorcycle, hurled abuses, and struck Behera with a sharp weapon after a heated argument over the delayed delivery of sweets and spoons.
Behera, aged 52, sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to Capital Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital for advanced treatment. His condition remains critical, according to sources close to the family.
Lingaraj police launched an immediate investigation and arrested one of the accused involved in the assault. Authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s name yet. Police officials confirmed that details will be shared after the court proceedings.
