Indian Railways has taken a significant step toward modernising rail travel in Odisha with the upgrade of the 20837/20838 Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express to Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches.
Replacing the conventional ICF coaches, the LHB rake offers superior safety, comfort, and operational efficiency, marking a milestone for passengers travelling between Odisha’s coastal and tribal regions, key towns in Andhra Pradesh, and the state capital, Bhubaneswar.
The first LHB rake service will commence from Bhubaneswar on August 08, 2025, and from Junagarh Road on August 09, 2025. The upgraded train composition includes 2 AC 2nd Class coaches, 4 AC 3rd Class coaches, 5 Sleeper Class coaches, 4 Second Class Seating coaches, 1 Guard cum Power Car, and 1 Guard cum Second Class Coach designed for Divyangjan passengers. This modernised setup ensures a smoother, safer, and more comfortable journey for all.
The introduction of LHB coaches, known for their advanced design and anti-collision technology, reflects Indian Railways’ commitment to enhancing passenger amenities and operational reliability. This upgrade strengthens connectivity between Odisha’s diverse regions and Andhra Pradesh, fostering economic and social ties while providing a more enjoyable travel experience.
