Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Bhakta Charan Das resigned from the post of Campaign Committee Chairman following the party’s poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha.
Das sent his resignation letter to AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge taking moral responsibility for the party’s poor performance in the simultaneous elections in Odisha.
“I worked hard to contribute my best but unfortunately we failed to come up to the expectations. We really appreciate the kind support and cooperation received from the Congress President, Former President Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of AICC during the election,” the senior Congress leader said.
The Congress won one Lok Sabha seat and 14 Assembly seats in Odisha.
