After his eviction from Bigg Boss 19, Baseer Ali has shared his frustrations about feeling sidelined by the show’s makers.
In an exclusive chat with India Today, the actor revealed that he received no guidance during the weekend episodes, unlike other contestants, and expressed disappointment over how his on-screen narrative was portrayed.
Lack of Feedback and Guidance
Baseer, who entered the show as one of the promising contestants, said, “I really don’t think I did anything wrong. But the episodes suggested I was stuck in the love angles, overshadowing my performance. Nobody gave me feedback during the weekend episodes.” He added that while other contestants were guided and informed about audience perceptions, he was left “blank,” which affected his game journey.
Bond with Nehal Chudasama
Addressing his relationship with Nehal Chudasama, Baseer clarified that his actions were rooted in care, not strategy. “In the last week, she had a 102 fever. A person telling you she has feelings—won’t you take care of them as a friend? It’s about humanity,” he said. He expressed hurt after seeing conversations post-eviction, feeling that he was “used” by Nehal and Farrhana Bhatt.
Friendship with Farrhana Bhatt
On his camaraderie with Farrhana, Baseer stated it was purely platonic. He explained, “When Farrhana would attack verbally, I responded playfully. That became our communication style. There was nothing more from my side.”
Memorable Moments in the Bigg Boss House
Despite his disappointment, Baseer recalled positive memories that didn’t make it to TV. “A few days before eviction, we had a sleepover in the living room. I also won the captaincy by defeating Abhishek, performing fair and square,” he shared.
Physical Tasks and Leadership
Baseer also noted the lack of physical tasks this season, which he believes undermined his strengths. “My USP has always been physical and mental strength. Maybe I was stuck in the wrong season. Bigg Boss was about personalities, not just relationships,” he added.
Future on Bigg Boss
When asked about returning as a wild card, Baseer confirmed he would consider it since he remains under contract. “Otherwise, I feel hurt that the show discarded me this way. Leadership matters more than following; this is a show about personalities,” he said.
Bigg Boss 19 streams on JioHotstar and airs on Colors TV.
