Uttar Pradesh: The Ayodhya district administration on Saturday demolished a bakery owned by Samajwadi Party leader Moeed Khan, who is the prime suspect in the gang rape of a minor girl.
Officials reported that Moeed Khan had illegally seized land from a pond to construct the bakery.
SDM Ashok Kumar stated, “The bakery was sealed for being illegal, and demolition procedures have begun.”
Following the bakery’s demolition, the administration also razed the illegally constructed boundary wall around the pond.
Previously, Moeed Khan and his domestic worker were charged with the rape and extortion of a 12-year-old girl employed at Khan’s residence in Ayodhya.
A lawsuit has been filed against the SP leader for purportedly intimidating the rape victim’s family to compromise the case. Khan was apprehended last Thursday for the continued assault of the girl spanning over two months.
Subsequently, another lawsuit was filed against the SP leader for threatening the victim’s family.
Earlier on Saturday, criticizing Akhilesh Yadav’s “DNA test” statement, Mayawati justified the Uttar Pradesh government’s stringent measures against the perpetrators in the Ayodhya gangrape case, and said, “The strict action being taken by the UP government against the accused in the Ayodhya gangrape case is justified, but what should be understood by SP saying that the DNA test of the accused should be done.”
She further urged the UP government to take strict steps against the accused.
