Athagarh: A police constable sustained injuries after miscreants hurled bombs at a police team. The incident was reported from Dalabhaga village under Khuntuni police limits here.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when the work for laying of electric wires through a transmission tower was underway to facilitate power supply to a cement factory. Meanwhile, a scuffle ensued between a group of villagers and employees of OPTCL. During this, some miscreants hurled bombs on the police personnel and fled away.
While the laying of electricity wires was suspended, senior police officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Two platoons of police force have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order, sources said.
