Sambalpur: With increase in water level of Hirakud dam, the authorities opened four more gates to release excess floodwater from the reservoir. With this, the floodwater is currently being released through 28 sluice gates of the reservoir.
The reservoir level stood at 628.65 against full reservoir level of 630 at 12 PM.
As per the SRC, excess floodwater released from Hirakud will reach Mundali this evening. However, the situation won’t be critical in low-lying areas, he said.
