To trace and rescue missing persons, the Cuttack District Police successfully conducted a five-day special drive titled “Anwesana” from August 18 to August 22, 2025.
Spearheaded by the Additional Superintendent of Police, IUCAW Cuttack, the operation led to the recovery of 306 individuals, including 282 women and 24 children.
The drive involved coordinated efforts across multiple police stations, combining field verification, community outreach, and technological tools to identify and reunite missing persons with their families. Among the notable recoveries was a woman missing since 2016 from Kishannagar, found in Puri District, and a 16-year-old girl from Banki, missing since 2021, who was safely returned to her family.
The success of “Anwesana” underscores the Cuttack Police’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations and resolving sensitive cases. Authorities have pledged to continue proactive measures to prevent future disappearances and ensure swift action in tracing efforts.
