Angul: JE Found In Possession Of DA Worth Crores

Angul: The Odisha Vigilance today unearthed assets worth crores belonging to Prasanna Kumar Pani, Junior Engineer (JE) of Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan, in the office of Pallahara BEO in Angul district.

According to Vigilance, five buildings including three multi-storeyed buildings and one flat in Bhubaneswar, 26 Plots, Deposits over 64.18 Lakhs, Gold Jewellery weighing approx 832 gms, Cash Rs.3.33 Lakhs, Etc were unearthed in house search of Junior Engineer.

In an ongoing search at 11 locations of Prasanna Kumar Pani, JE (Technical Consultant), Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan, the following movable and immovable assets worth Crores have been unearthed so far, in the name of Pani and his family members.

1. Triple-storeyed building with a total area of 3186 Sqft. near Friends Club, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar worth approx Rs.75 Lakhs (picture given below).
2. Triple-storeyed building with a total area of 2468 Sqft. over plot No-367, Trilochan Vihar, Ebaranga. Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar
3. Triple-storeyed building with a total area of 2845 Sqft. over plot No-366, Trlochan Vihar, Ebaranga, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar
4. Triple-storeyed building located at Amlapada, Nimapada, Puri.
5. One Flat vide No.1/B4-02, Block-B4, First Floor High Tech Plaza, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar
6. 26 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Pipili & Nimapara (Puri), and Jankia & Jatani (Khurdha) were found. The Registered Sale Deed (RSD) value comes to Rs.89.02 Lakhs. However, the actual value is likely to be much higher. Undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/flat/plots is being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.

7. Payment of Rs.42.84 Lakhs made to different developers/promoters etc. to purchase land and apartments.
8. Bank, Insurance and other deposits worth over Rs.64.18 Lakhs.
9. Cash Rs.3,33,300/-.
10. Gold jewellery weighing 831.83 gms worth approx Rs.32 Lakhs.
11. 1 four-wheeler (Swift DZIRE) & 4 two-wheelers and household articles worth over Rs.18.79 Lakhs.

Prasanna Kumar Pani, JE (Technical Consultant), Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan, office of BEO, Pallahara, Angul is being examined to ascertain the source of the assets. Further searches are continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches were launched on the properties of Sri Prasanna Kumar Pani, JE (Technical Consultant), Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan, office of BEO, Pallahara, Angul today i.e. 18.10.2023 at 11 places in Khurdha (Bhubaneswar), Angul and Puri districts i.e;

1. Triple Storyed Building at plot No.367, Trilochan Vihar, Ebaranga. Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
2. The triple-storeyed building at plot No.366, Trlochan Vihar, Ebaranga, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
3. Triple-storeyed building near Friends Club, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
4. Flat No. 1/B4-02, Block-B4, First Floor High Tech Plaza, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
5. Rented house at Uday Vihar, Canal Road, Pallahara, Dist-Angul.
6. Office chamber of Sri Pani, at O/o BEO, Pallahara, Dist-Angul.
7. Triple-story building located at Amlapada, Nimapada, Puri.
8. House of relative at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
9. House of another relative at Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
10. House of relative at Prestige Apartment, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
11. House of business partner at Gouri Dham, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.

11 teams of Odisha Vigilance comprising 6 DSPs, 6 Inspectors and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
